School of Government & Technology
CHALLENGE
As public sector organisations struggled to keep up with ever changing digital skill requirements and traditional training fell short, COVID-19 emerged and added further focus to a serious digital deficit.
Not only do training facilities struggle to keep up with evolving technology on such an epic scale (3.9 million are currently employed in Government roles) but also with their expert pools.
In fact, 94% of the German populace are fed up with this status quo and support a shift from fax and folder to digital.
This public consensus has made the issue of digital transformation a serious political issue, with all the major parties pushing a digital policy, resulting in 30 billion euros becoming available for public services.
Themis launched the School of Government and Technology (SGT), a new digital learning platform for those employed in government and administration.
It enables curated content to be distributed from a central learning platform for urgent digitisation and future topics, transference of information between experts from research, business and the public sector.
A shift from a ‘one size fits all’ solution to a highly individualised learning process.
SOLUTION
We created a fluid brand representing this concept of learning and digital transformation that is approachable and inclusive (with a target audience ranging from 18 to70, this is key).
After initial explorations, we looked to the university departmental academic colour system as inspiration, narrowing down the 42 colours to eight, which would form the basis of the brand system.
The mark itself comes in two forms, a stacked, abbreviated version and a full literal variant. Both of which are supported by a set of hand drawn and vector assets which can be used to create abstracted illustrations on and offline.
A simple brand guidance document and a more comprehensive platform design system were also created.
