Fleetboard Visual System 1.0

CHALLENGE

Daimler’s Fleetboard provides individually combinable telematics services to intelligently connect drivers, fleet and order.

With 17 years of experience, 7000 customers worldwide and 360,000 connected vehicles, it provides analysis, time recording, trailer data and ID, memory downloads, trip mapping and logistics.

At its core, the Fleetboard cockpit combines all services in an intuitive user interface which allows convenient access to driver, vehicle, trailer and order date at any time.

The cockpit was the convergence of three existing design systems / guidelines, applied in three locations with three design teams.

The experience needed unification and clear guidance for future works.

SOLUTION

Creating a coherent, harmonious look and feel from Fleetboard CI, FBDS and Flamango design systems.

Selecting the core devices and principles that create a consistent visual system.

The creation of one flexible, scalable and ‘loveable’ system. Breathing life into information, adding joy to functionality and pain points

A system that is ripe for adoption and accepted by multiple stakeholders and teams.

Once the system was in development, it was promoted across sites in analogue form, presented regularly to the teams in Stuttgart and Berlin and pushed in the design system itself.
